Erasmus students at the Campus Bozen-Bolzano
As part of the International Weeks organized by the Euclides network, the Master in Industrial Mechanical Engineering is welcoming this week 25 students and 8 professors from three countries.
The students and professors are attending an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) at unibz.
After two years of online and hybrid lessons a meeting in person seems like a quantum of fresh air for students and professors of the Faculty of Science and Technology. “We are very happy to be part right from the beginning of this new Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) initiative”, underlines professor Guido Orzes who, together with prof. Renato Vidoni and Dr. Erwin Rauch, is organizing this week at the Campus Bozen-Bolzano.
The International Week in Digital Manufacturing wants to provide students with an introduction to the main Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., cyber-physical systems, assistance systems, collaborative robotics, additive manufacturing, and artificial intelligence) both from a technical and managerial point of view.
“That meant for us organizing a program that, beyond frontal lectures, includes practical sessions into the Smart Mini Factory lab and a day at the NOI Techpark, interacting with researchers of different labs like unibz FIRST lab or Fraunhofer Arena”, explains prof. Renato Vidoni. “The week bundles the subjects and arguments of our Master in Industrial Mechanical Engineering that trains industrial mechanical engineers able to work in a wide range of areas and interdisciplinary projects.”
The BIP is co-organized by nine European universities of the EUCLIDES Network: Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, University of Antwerp, University of Girona (UdG), University of Udine, Haute Ecole Louvain en Hainaut (HELHa), KU Leuven, UC Leuven-Limburg (UCLL), University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and FH Joanneum University of Applied sciences.
The teaching format foresees also practical projects – with groups composed by students from different countries and Universities – that will continue in a remote way until 30th April 2022 under the supervision of the international faculty of the BIP.
So study seems to be going back to normal times with in-presence activities in an international environment, while also exploiting technological opportunities experienced during the pandemics.
