The focus of the competence centre lies in the research of abiotic and biotic stress factors in order to understand their role on the health of plants, to research changes and to predict future challenges, as well as to develop innovative solutions and recommend them in practice.
At the centre we develop practical solutions in order to create an important basis for the future challenges facing South Tyrol's agriculture and forestry.

The Competence Centre is an active member of Euphresco among other 70 organizations from more than 50 countries worldwide and member of the European ERIAFF network with 50 member European Regions and 38 observers from 21 European countries for Innovation in Agriculture, Food and Forestry. It furthermore coordinates the ERIAFF working group on Agroecology.
