unibz at TEDx. Leonardo Montagnani main speaker of the Bolzano edition

The TED Talk of the professor of Forest Ecology is the first of three talks tonight, at 7.30 pm. The main theme this year is climate change.

A TEDx in the sign of unibz. Not only thanks to Leonardo Montagnani, professor and researcher from the Faculty of Science and Technology, who will keep up the university name in the 2022 edition (unfortunately still only online). The whole event has been organized thanks to the work of POW Italy, Protect Our Winters, a non-profit association active worldwide, whose members are Stefano Tonini, head of the “Science Alliance” of the association, and Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Science and Technology, and Luigimaria Borruso, microbiologist and part of the research group in Agricultural Chemistry. The support of POW also guides the choice of the theme of the Bolzano edition, entirely dedicated to climate change.

The event will open at 7.30 p.m. tonight, Friday, January 14. Leonardo Montagnani - ranked 12th on Google Scholar in the field of biochemical cycle research and 21st in that of forestry research - will talk about his studies and monitoring activities of the effects of climate change that he is carrying out in the CO2 measurement station on the Renon plateau. Next, Moritz Holzinger, filmmaker, will tell the future of mobility on four wheels while Merius van der Wijden, who works for the Ethereum Foundation, will address the most controversial environmental aspects related to the sustainability of cryptocurrencies.

Attending the TEDx talks tonight is free: just click on the link to the live webstream. Info on TEDx Bolzano, here.

A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and performances are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. The content and design of each TEDx event are unique and developed independently, but all of them have features in common.
