Welcome Session for 146 Incoming Students

Today the Bozen-Bolzano campus hosted its annual Welcome Session for incoming students from partner universities.

As the new winter semester approaches, the university is gearing up to welcome 146 exchange students, representing a diverse range of nationalities and academic backgrounds. While most of the incoming students hail from various European countries, there are some welcome exceptions. unibz is proud to host students from as far as Taiwan, Brazil, Israel, China, and Thailand, showcasing the university’s global appeal.

Within Europe, the incoming class represents a tapestry of nationalities, including students from Norway, Finland, Malta, Germany, Poland, Portugal, France, and Lithuania. This melting pot of cultures promises a rich and dynamic exchange experience for all involved.

The statistics for the incoming cohort are as follows. 90% of the incoming students have chosen unibz as their destination through the Erasmus+ program, highlighting the university’s strong European connections. 4% of the incoming students are here under bilateral agreements between unibz and non-European partner institutions, emphasizing the global reach of the university's academic partnerships. The remaining 6% of students have opted to join unibz as Free Movers, further enriching the cultural diversity on campus.

unibz’s commitment to student mobility is underscored by its network of partnerships. The university boasts 162 Erasmus+ agreements, 41 bilateral agreements with non-European and Italian universities, and 5 agreements under the Swiss European Mobility Programme. These agreements facilitate a robust flow of students, both incoming and outgoing..

The Welcome Session served as a warm introduction to the unibz community, helping incoming students settle into their new academic home. As the winter semester commences, unibz eagerly awaits the arrival of these talented and diverse students, ready to embark on their educational journey in the heart of the Alps.
