Professor Lugli conducts research on nanoelectronics and molecular electronics. After completing his studies in physics at the University of Modena (Italy) in 1979, Professor Lugli moved to Colorado State University in Fort Collins (USA) where he received a Master of Science in 1982 and a PhD in 1985, both in electrical engineering. In 1985 he started working as an assistant in the Physics Department of the University of Modena (Italy). From 1988 to 1993 he was an associate professor of solid state physics in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Rome II (University of Rome Tor Vergata) where he was appointed professor in 1993. From 2002 until 2016 Professor Lugli has held the Chair of Nanoelectronics at the Technische Universität München. He's the author of more than 350 scientific papers and since 2011 he's been a member of the Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften (AcaTech) and a fellow of IEEE.

Alex Weissensteiner is Professor for Quantitative Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Management. He holds a Ph.D. from the Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck, and he was Professor for Financial Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (2013-2014). At the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, he was Coordinator of the Quality Committee (2016-2020), Vice-Dean Teaching (2018-2020) and Program Director of the BSc "Economics and Management" (2015-2020). He is teaching courses as Mathematical Finance, Financial Risk Management and Quantitative Finance. His research interests are in the fields of asset allocation, theoretical and empirical asset pricing. He published in leading outlets as, e.g., the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Financial Markets and the Journal of Banking and Finance.

Johann Gamper is full professor at the Faculty of Engineering, where he was Vice-Dean for Studies from 2015-2018 (Faculty of Computer Science). He received a MSc degree in Computer Science from the TU Vienna (1989) and a PhD degree in Computer Science from the RWTH Aachen (1996). His main research interests are in data intensive systems with a focus on database technologies for processing and analysing huge amounts of data, with a particular emphasis on time-referenced and time series data. Many of his research activities are embedded in projects with local and international partners from different sectors, including agriculture, medicine, public administration and tourism. Johann Gamper is author of 120+ publications in international journals and conference proceedings. He is member of ACM and IEEE.
